Cosa succede quando si riuniscono agricoltori, orticoltori, sognatori e persone d\u2019azione da ogni angolo della Calabria?<\/h6>

Quando giovani e anziani, cittadini e abitanti delle campagne si siedono sotto lo stesso ulivo per imparare sulla vita del suolo e la magia dei microrganismi?<\/p>

Succede qualcosa di potente. Qualcosa che somiglia a una rigenerazione<\/strong>\u2014non solo dell\u2019agricoltura, ma della comunit\u00e0.<\/p>

Questo \u00e8 stato lo spirito del Green Roots Festival<\/strong>, un laboratorio di due giorni sull\u2019agricoltura rigenerativa e la microbiologia del suolo, tenutosi nei terreni dell\u2019associazione Terranima, sulle colline di Badolato.<\/p>

L\u2019evento \u00e8 stato sostenuto dal programma Erasmus+ dell\u2019Unione Europea<\/strong> e organizzato in collaborazione con Slovak Eco Quality (SEQ)<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>

Sin dall\u2019inizio, l\u2019energia era palpabile. I partecipanti sono arrivati curiosi, aperti, desiderosi di immergersi nei contenuti. Ogni giorno, oltre 30 persone da varie zone della Calabria (e non solo) si sono riunite per apprendere da Axel Torrej\u00f3n<\/strong>, agroecologo cileno e consulente noto per il suo approccio pratico e coinvolgente.<\/span><\/h6>
E il gruppo? Un mix bellissimo. Agricoltori sessantenni accanto a studenti universitari; produttori locali di cibo che scambiano idee con orticoltori per passione e amanti della permacultura.<\/span><\/h6>
Non si parlava solo di microbi\u2014ma di connessioni<\/strong>. Tra le persone, tra le generazioni, e tra gli esseri umani e il suolo.<\/span><\/h6>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Suolo, microbi\u2026 e qualcosa di pi\u00f9<\/h2>\n

Durante i due giorni, i partecipanti hanno esplorato i concetti chiave della salute del suolo, della nutrizione delle piante e della resilienza naturale.
<\/br>\nHanno imparato a preparare biofertilizzanti, coltivare microrganismi utili, e persino a catturare funghi e batteri nativi dall\u2019ambiente locale, usando tecniche semplici e a basso costo<\/strong>.
<\/br>\nMa soprattutto, hanno imparato a osservare la natura<\/strong>.
<\/br>\n\nLo stile di insegnamento di Axel ha reso accessibile anche la microbiologia pi\u00f9 complessa. Nonostante il caldo, il gruppo \u00e8 rimasto totalmente coinvolto.
<\/br>\nRisate, domande, intuizioni... momenti di \u201caha!\u201d che si susseguivano.\nE quando si \u00e8 passati alla pratica? Le mani si sono sporcate.
<\/br>\nSi \u00e8 impastato, osservato, costruito, condiviso. Alcuni hanno persino portato a casa le trappole di riso per vedere che forme di vita minuscole potevano raccogliere nel proprio terreno.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Rigenerare il suolo e la societ\u00e0 <\/h2><\/soan>

C\u2019\u00e8 qualcosa di speciale nel vedere degli sconosciuti trasformarsi in collaboratori. Nel vedere giovani fare domande con gli occhi che brillano, e agricoltori esperti annuire in silenziosa comprensione.
<\/br><\/p>\n

Quello che \u00e8 emerso durante il festival \u00e8 una vera e propria rigenerazione sociale<\/strong>\u2014un promemoria che l\u2019agricoltura non \u00e8 solo cibo. \u00c8 cultura, paesaggio, salute, identit\u00e0. E quando le persone che si prendono cura di queste cose si incontrano, qualcosa comincia a cambiare.<\/p>\n


<\/br>Terranima vuole diventare un punto di riferimento per questo tipo di trasformazione<\/strong>\u2014collegando persone con valori e visioni comuni, offrendo uno spazio dove far germogliare nuove idee.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Pranzi lenti, idee grandi<\/h2>\n

Le lunghe pause pranzo non erano solo cibo (anche se era squisito). Erano momenti di rete, riflessione e scambio.\n
<\/br>\nCi si sedeva all\u2019ombra, si condividevano storie e si facevano progetti.
<\/br>\nQualcuno vuole collaborare.
<\/br>\nAltri vogliono riportare Axel in Italia.
<\/br>\nTutti volevano continuare.

Un impegno collettivo<\/span><\/h2>\n \n

Nulla di tutto questo sarebbe stato possibile senza gli incredibili volontari\u2014Simone, Yamila e Veda\u2014che hanno aiutato ad organizzare, accogliere, tradurre e sostenere ogni dettaglio dell\u2019evento.
<\/br> Un ringraziamento anche ai vicini e amici che hanno messo a disposizione spazi per il parcheggio, sedie e balle di paglia.\n

Il Green Roots Festival \u00e8 stato solo l\u2019inizio.<\/p>

La risposta dei partecipanti \u00e8 stata chiara: in Calabria c\u2019\u00e8 una vera fame<\/strong> di conoscenza pratica, ispirazione e comunit\u00e0 intorno alle pratiche rigenerative.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Stiamo gi\u00e0 sognando la prossima edizione\u2014magari in una stagione pi\u00f9 fresca, e magari con pi\u00f9 giorni per lasciare pi\u00f9 spazio alla riflessione e alla partecipazione.<\/p>

I semi sono stati piantati, e non vediamo l\u2019ora di vedere cosa crescer\u00e0.<\/p>

Green Roots Festival: Soil, People, and the Seeds of Regeneration Badolato, Calabria \u2013 June 12\u201313, 2025 \u00a0 What happens when you bring together farmers, gardeners, dreamers, and doers from all corners of Calabria? When young people and elders, city dwellers and countryside veterans sit under the same olive tree to learn about soil life and microbial magic? Something powerful happens. Something that feels like regeneration\u2014not only of agriculture, but of community. This was the spirit of the Green Roots Festival, a two-day workshop on regenerative farming and soil microbiology held at Terranima\u2019s land in the hills of Badolato. The event was supported by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and hosted in collaboration with Slovak Eco Quality (SEQ). \u00a0 From the very beginning, the energy was palpable. Participants arrived curious, open, and ready to dive in. Over 30 people each day, from different parts of Calabria and beyond, gathered to learn from Axel Torrej\u00f3n, a Chilean agroecologist and consultant known for his engaging, hands-on approach to teaching. And the group? A beautiful mix. Farmers in their sixties stood next to young students; local food producers swapped ideas with hobby gardeners and permaculturists. It wasn\u2019t just about microbes\u2014it was about connection. Between people, between generations, and between humans and the soil. Soil, microbes… and something more Over two days, participants explored key concepts of soil health, plant nutrition, and natural resilience. They learned how to prepare biofertilizers, grow beneficial microorganisms, and even trap native fungi and bacteria from the local environment using simple, low-cost techniques. But more than that, they learned how to observe nature. Axel\u2019s teaching style made even the most complex microbiology feel accessible. Despite the heat, the group stayed fully engaged. Laughter, questions, and \u201caha!\u201d moments flowed freely. And when it came to the practical parts? People got their hands dirty. They mixed, observed, built, shared. Some even took rice traps home to see what tiny life forms they could collect from their own land. Regeneration Soil and Society There\u2019s something special about watching strangers become collaborators. About seeing young people ask questions with spark in their eyes, and older farmers nod in deep understanding. What emerged during the festival was a kind of social regeneration\u2014a reminder that agriculture isn\u2019t just about food. It\u2019s about culture, landscape, health, identity. And when people who care about these things come together, something begins to shift. Terranima aims to become a reference point for this kind of transformation\u2014connecting people who share values and visions, and offering a space where new ideas can take root. Slow lunches, big ideas The long lunch breaks weren\u2019t just about food (though the food was delicious). They were a time for networking, reflection, and exchange. People sat in the shade, shared stories, and made plans. Some want to collaborate. Others want to bring Axel back. Everyone wanted more. In fact, the most frequent feedback we received? \u201cLet\u2019s do this more often!\u201d A community effort   None of this would have been possible without the incredible volunteers\u2014Simone, Yamila, and Veda\u2014who helped organize, host, guide, and support every detail of the event. Also, thanks to our neighbours and friends who agreed to use their space for parking, or borrowed chairs and straw bales. And yes, no plastic was used: everyone had a reusable cup labeled with a clothespin for their coffee and water. Looking Ahead The Green Roots Festival was just the beginning. \u00a0 The response from participants was clear: there\u2019s a real hunger in Calabria for practical knowledge, inspiration, and community around regenerative practices. \u00a0 We\u2019re already dreaming of the next edition\u2014maybe in a cooler season, and maybe spread out over more days to give even more space for reflection and participation. \u00a0 The seeds have been planted, and we can\u2019t wait to see what grows.
